A few questions

Hey guys, I just got my RX-7 recently, and I have a few questions.
It is a base model 1986 manual.

My oil pressure gauge stopped working recently. It just dropped down past the bottom of the gauge. I have changed the oil since then, and the car runs fine. What could this be?

My car smells like gas after I run it.

My climate control unit doesn't switch how the air is blowing. This really sucks, cause I get no defrost. I can press different buttons and the lights come on, but the air just blows out of the vents right above the controls no matter once.

Also, I can't switch my heat on.

Any help on any of these questions would be great.
Thank you!

First thing. If you ever see no oil pressure in your car turn it off IMMEDIATELY. No oil pressure will screw you over quick. Check the oil sending unit on the driver's side of the engine. The plug must have just fallen off. For a more specific location check the FSM. I'm not 100% sure about its location on the S4.

Smells like gas? No biggie. Most of these cars smell like gas. However, I would check your PD to make sure it is in good condition. There is a thread about this in the Archives I believe.

The Logicon sucks. A lot of the wiring in these cars suck. You might wanna look into resoldering some things. I would check the archive and then search around for how to fix it. Or just wait for Icemark to come in here and tell you how to fix it. He seems to be the electircal guru.

Welcome to the wonderful world of rotaries!

Take off the oil pressure sending unit and pull the EGI fuse. Crank the car if oil spews out then your Oil pump works. So you can still drive the car. I drove without one for 2 months and it was fine the whole time. I just eventually got sick of seening 0 oil pressure. Just go out and buy a manual gauge. Hook it up better reading if you do it right. But has the oil pressure gauge on the stock cluster worked at 1 point? But the stock gauges suck thats what i can tell you. I can't tell you about the climate control since I haven't fiddel with that yet.
