A few BOV questions

So I installed a turboxs RFL bov, and if I decel, while keeping the pedal depressed at the point where the motor is just pumping air, i can shoot flames from my exhaust in a series of rapid pops I know there's supposed to be a rich condition upon decel, but i didnt know that holding it halfway would do that. Anyways, normal or not?

Second issue... turbo seems louder. Almost like a leak, but not. Tightened all the clamps... dunno what it could be.

Third issue, how did you guys attach turboxs bov's? I had to do it in a really weird way.. attaching rubber hose to rubber hose, 90 deg elbow. Is this why my bov is not as louds as I expected? because the diameter of the stock outlet on the IC interconnect is much smaller than the 1" bov inlet?

Ok
1.) Yes that is normal. Mine doesnt it. But are you running a single exhaust or duals? Also, I noticed on mine its not when it does the pops that it shoots flames. It coming out of high rpms and just letting off and letting the throttle plates slam shut. WOOSH!

2.) Do you have a boost gauge? Are you seeing any reduction in power or boost? Also check to make sure your inlet duct is on right, or not loose.

3.) I cant help you here. I'm running a 1st gen DSM BOV.

Yeah i tooked everything apart, and reinstalled it, and its good now. Problem was i overtightened one of the clamps, and the rubber hose buckled.

Stupid stock plastic pipe... i couldnt weld it even if i wanted to lol

is the rapid poppin thing due to the fact that the spring may be too loose? They included shims in the box to shim the spring up... maybe that's my problem? the valve opening too soon?

You should mount the BOV properly. The way you have it is a bit of a hack job. Take the stock intake pipe to an exhuast shop or anyone who does decent welding, and get them to make a new one with the "real" flange that came with the BOV welded onto it. This is made alot easier if you don't have ACV or a BAC valve, but any good shop will be able to fab a new intake pipe with all the outlets you need.

yeah I know... but the flange mine came with has been hacked up, and there's welding wire splatter on the inside of the pipe that I'm worried will get into the engine.

What boost are you running? If its fairly low it could be why your BOV isn't as loud as you expect.

ahh yes one more question... I can get a samco reducing 90 deg bend... this will allow me to swap the bovs for emissions or whatever very easily... something that looks like this

this way, i dont have to have one of these pipes made.

It should not be too hard to find a pipe that will fit the BOV and act like a flange.

No the pic is not of a dead guy, it's me after a DUI arrest.

I took a different approach. I cut a hole in the pressure side of my intercooler and welded the BOV right to the Intercooler.

There was an aluminum flange included in the box. Take an aluminum pipe and have a shop with a real welder tack them together. And wire splatter wont just fall off.

Yup that looks like it might be my option at this point... although i'm interested in the reducer bend... seems to be a very good alternative
