if you get stuck, go to the Mazda dealership and ask for 9CF6-00-516B, most dealers will stock these, its a common part.

or you could follow Rx8's and pick up the ones that fall off of it

Is that a kit or one bolt? I will soon be in the same position, my undertray bolts were severely rusted when I removed them years ago and I will also need hardware for the TII lip.

That is a great strategy, I've been behind a few RX8's in the past couple of days.

Lol, but yes, dealer should have a bunch of proper, shiny yellow zinc plated ones of exactly the same type. If that's what you want.

If you don't mind them being a bit different, any hardware store can match to a similar bolt with the same thread.

I have bought hardware at the dealer before, so the idea isn't completely unusual to me, lol. I have access to a parts catalog, so I can find the numbers. But, if you know availability, may as well post it here in the event it may help others.

I have never bought something from a dealer. Do they really carry **** for an 88? Seems like it would all be special order.

in this case every Mazda uses this same screw for stuff under the car, so most dealers stock it, they fall out of the Rx8's all the time.

most of the rest of the Rx7 is actually available, but they will have to order it, which takes a couple of days.

the bolt with the washer is 9078-60-616

the under cover uses 9078-60-616.

the S5 front air damn uses 9973-50-512

The S5 front air dam utilizes the same bolts on the outer part of the lip, 12 I believe, but the next row are 3 Phillips screws, the next 4 are long bolts that go though the lip, underpan and into the bumper support, and the other 9 bolts for the pan are the same. All these bolts contain washers under the head.
The wheel wells. along with the bolts/washers, utilize a push pin at the top and the other unique item is at the inside rear, an unusual looking large octagon plastic "push nut" that slides over the extended stud.

They are available from the dealer, try Tasca parts www.Tascaparts.com. Just ordered over $1100 in parts and have found them to be the least expensive and a great bunch of guys to work with.

Metric hardware is designated by shank size, NOT head size, so what our drunken Northerner is actually talking about is M5 and M6.
Pretty sure all the bolts will be 6mm x 1.0 and there are some screws also.

You're welcome, I guess.

Of course, you picked the two easiest months of the year to do it.
Making it through the nine months of your lunar winter will be the hard part.

30 minutes of sun a day (maybe), glaciers advancing on the back yard and you've already watched all of Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones...what does one do?
