When can we expect completion?

I'm glad I'm wrong. I know what these guys were expecting and was hoping they get it. Touche'.

Hopefully by end of week but it is not up to me unfortunately. That's the sucky part.

Double post

Tapered?

The difference in port placement and size between the S5 Lower Intake, and the S6 Upper intake manifold would require the ports to be tapered, or conned/slanted to account for the difference in port size and locations. That is what was meant by Tapered.

10aeRX7 07-18-16 09:46 AM

Is it too late to jump in on this? Id like to get my hands on an adapter as well.

I'm well aware of this. I'm asking because I know and I know what he promised. I also know how Rising RPM did it. Others above have stated they want a same diameter, smooth transition from one intake half to the other, like Rising RPM did.

Hybrid G 07-22-16 08:14 PM

Any updates

I second the above statement

AaronJ 08-31-16 05:44 PM

Nada my friends the phone has gone silent. No positive updates.

Jager 09-11-16 01:30 PM

Usually how it works.

atsugiT2 09-15-16 07:37 AM

man, I had high hopes for this.. whats up with the feed adapters? any feedback on those?

ACR_RX-7 09-15-16 09:57 AM

I think the lack of feedback on the Feed unit is the price. Last I checked, it was over $300

Hybrid G 09-24-16 02:15 PM

someone breathe new life into this pls!!!!!!!!!

s70simon 09-26-16 09:26 PM

Found this guy on Facebook, looks decent. Just ordered s4 to s6 adapter. Will let you know how it goes.

Keep us in the loop, if its a good piece, then that's the way I will go.

FührerTüner 09-27-16 11:47 AM

This guy was on yesterday. Why no updates?

ACR_RX-7 09-27-16 12:23 PM

Because this is the Second Gen forum. All part development threads die a slow and painful death here.

This is my product and business :) check out our new stud less design!

ACR_RX-7 09-29-16 04:17 PM

Well I do like the look of it. Does it come with all of the hardware, or do I still need to use my own manifold bolts that are kicking around my garage......somewhere?

Edit: I just found the assembly guide on the site. It comes with everything

Got my adapter install yesterday and it fits like a glove.. Great quality and and everything work like advertise .. Install was simple and very straightforward..

Have't seen quality and craftsmanship like this is a long time for our cars..
I will do a write up with pictures after work... Don't hesitated to order this adapter..

ACR_RX-7 09-29-16 04:58 PM

Looks like I have to put my money where my mouth is. Now if I can just slip cash out of my wife's purse without her noticing.....

TonyD89 09-29-16 05:42 PM

Sounds like you have bigger problems. :gwink:

ACR_RX-7 09-29-16 06:03 PM

I always do :)

I needed some practice so I figured I would draw up an adapter from scratch.

This design has not been tested to work and was dimensioned off of OEM Mazda gaskets.

This is for an S4 LIM to S6 UIM. I have IGS files linked bellow. Should be straight forward to test out if someone is willing to 3d print it or machine a prototype.

Can you upload the CAD for s5 to FD?

DC5Daniel 10-03-16 11:46 AM

Sucks I'm stuck with that Darin Neagle piece of shit for now...

Why haven't you advertised or become a vendor on the forum? People have been asking for this!

I haven't drawn that adapter, I just only drew this S4 one last night. If someone sends me a brand new OEM S5 Gasket or an S5 LIM I'll be happy to do it.

The SP Engineering adapter bolted on fine for me. I haven't ran it on the car since I'm still on a stock top mount, but have you ran into issues with yours?

Is your question directed at me? Or ReFc?

ReFc 10-09-16 10:45 PM

Next round of sales going!

1. Darin is a POS businessman, some things never change, even when they start to look promising. He had a moment of redemption then went back to his old ways of cutting off communicating and fucking people.
2. The offset bolts do not line everything up evenly. It's a crude design. I'm willing to bet they fit better on the original RisingRPM units than the ripped off SPENG version. They align "okay", but I had to grind them down significantly and spend tons of time spinning them to get the adapter to align with the LIM the way it was supposed to.

p0tat0s 02-17-17 02:50 PM

just out of curiosity has anyone seen anything about an adapter that would work with an s7 manifold or has managed to make any of the other possibilities work for one?

i had no idea the UIM was any different

from another thread ( the photos are missing )

Here is the upper intake manifold

Red circle here shows that there is no nipple for the AWS (accelerated warm-up system) and that there is no solenoid

Blue circle show the location of the purge control solenoid. On our cars, it is not located on the upper intake manifold.

Yellow circle shows that there are no pulley for the cruise control. Although I ain’t sure if this is japanese specific, someone correct me if I am wrong, I have only seen FD with cruise control so far. It is also gold instead of green

The green circle shows that there are no nipples for the vaccums in front and there is no place to connect the PCV valve (like the 95 version)

atsugiT2 02-18-17 12:12 AM

i think elite rotary has a whole fc manifold setup now thats similar to their fd cosmo style manifold. just an alternative to getting an adapter..

ACR_RX-7 02-18-17 05:28 PM

I believe it only works with either a Cosmo upper and TB or their upper manifold with a Cosmo?FD? TB. I'm not entirely certain. I would like to get one, but I'm on a budget (read: cheap)

p0tat0s 02-24-17 11:00 AM

not really worried about the other stuff mainly just the difference in the actual intake runners. the series 7 uim i have has the wider spacing in between the middle runners than the series 6, same as ACR's in post 44 of this thread https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati.../#post12038792

ACR_RX-7 02-24-17 11:35 AM

I still have not decided on what I am going to do. There is a company that makes a 2 piece adapter with orings and the whole bit that looks like it will work. The options really are to either bridge that gap and mill it, modify the lower to suit, or get an adapter.

This adapter may work, but since I have a series 7 manifold, I am unsure.

https://www.obsidianlabs.org/product...nt=27355028097

p0tat0s 02-24-17 01:56 PM

i saw that too but was also iffy about it since its intended for the series 6 manifold with the closer ports. i'm almost leaning towards making my own of aluminum bar stock and having the machine shop nearby make it perfectly flat when i bring my moped cylinder to get decked.

Skandalon 02-24-17 03:47 PM

I would be happy for a adapter to for a third gen or GM throttle body to my s4 manifold. Meh

I looked up the FD upper intake gasket and I get conflicting answers. It looks like the gasket works for 93-02 intakes, but I have not bothered to purchase a gasket due to the potential of getting an adapter or something else worked out. Unless someone here has an old FD upper intake gasket they would like to send me for scientific research ;)

I think I have exact dimensions of the S7 UIM gasket if you want them.

I would, but I also want to know if it is the same as the S6 gasket.
