FD transmission in an FC?

I was wondering if the REW shifter comes up in the same place, in the cockpit.
My car is originally a 91 n/a. I have the REW w/ trans and wouldn't want to buy a TII trans, if the REW trans fits fine. Seems as though I'll have to make a custom driveshaft, regardless. And building a custom trans mount shouldn't be too much of a problem. However, a TII trans will run me $Trans+driveshaft+clutch+slave$.
I was hoping to find someone who has put one in an FC, to avoid the confusion with speculation and such.

Supernow makes a kit to run one.

You can look in there to see what what's required.

FC and FD 5th syncro is identical, it's actually interchangable. the shifter is the main problem.
i built a hybrid FD transmission and installed it into a customer car, but your question is vague.
it's a rather simple fix, if you use the FC tail housing/shifter.... instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.

It's a bit off-topic but maybe of interest with the OP....
The MAZDA TSB on the 5th gear synchro fix also included the shift select spindle with (presumably) a stiffer spring.
I did both about 13 years ago and several thousand miles. Never had another issue. AFAIK, there weren't issues with late production 93's on.

Thank you, RotaryEvolution. That may be of help, if my N/A tail section will fit on the REW transmission. Did you switch the tail section because the transmission wouldn't fit otherwise (length? girth? driveshaft connection?)?
Sorry about the vagueness. I have a '91 N/A rx7. With a REW motor and trans, mounted in the factory 13B location, will the shift lever be in the same place as the stock N/A shifter (i.e. come up through the hole in the trans tunnel and operate without binding on anything)?

your n/a tail won't fit, you would need a turbo II transmission tail snout.
the reason i did it that way was for the obvious reasons:
eliminate the need to fabricate another mount or try to mess with the FD torque brace
keep the stock shifter and location
bolts up and fits like it was supposed to be there
your scenario totally depends on where your engine mounts have set the engine. ideally you would mount the engine with the transmission in the original location and then fabricate the engine mounts to follow. i can't answer if it will fit properly, it should if you mounted the engine in exactly the same location as the original.

As stated above, I just don't want to go buying stuff that I don't need. If I need it, that is another story.
RotaryEvolution, thanks again for the info. Now, to find a TII tranny.
