FD seats in a FC?

Anybody ever try this?

I have a '90 vert, and my buddy has seats from his 3rd gen sitting in the attic (he replaced them with Sparcos awhile back)...they'll need to be recovered, but they're FREE.

So I was wondering if they would fit, or how much modification it would take to the brackets to make them fit?

im sure it can be done, just a matter of fabbing mounts/ redrilling floor pans or w/e. i have heard of others using rx-8 seats so fd seats shouldnt be too much of a stretch

It's been done a couple times, asked about 1000 times.

Here's a good pretty recent thread covering the swap: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ht=fd+seats+fc The good stuff starts at post #13

the FC floor pan is a wonky shape, so yes you will need to fabricate special bracets or make the stock ones work for the FD seats.

FD seats are garbage, even if they're free, lol. And especially if they need to be recovered (unless you're doing it yourself).

For what it costs to get both recovered, buy one good seat and a set of brackets. Save up for a passanger seat later.

Thx for all feedback...I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to swap in the FDs, or if I should recover my existing seats, or if I should just buy some aftermarket seats on eBay.

Decisions, decisions...

^id stay away from no-name aftermarket seats from ebay unless its brand name like recaro, sparco etc. No name ebay seats wont last long, cheap material that will rip/fade etc.
