Unhappy FD seats in a FC

Has anyone made the switch work? I did a search for this but found only opinions. I would like to know how to accomplish this. Where to go to have this done. I want an OEM look. My drivers seat is broken and torn. People sell 2nd gen leather seats but they are either ugly or they will not ship them. WTF??? If someone has done this please give me the run down. -BTW did I mention I don't want racing seats. I have 3rd gen seats all around me but NO 2nd gen. Thanks for any help.

Why not just take the seat covers off your seats and take them to a place that does custom leather/seude work. They could make you a brand new set of replacements. I like TII seats a lot, I wouldnt switch them out for anything.

It will require alot of fabrication work to mount 3rd gen seats Into your car. You can't simply swap seat rails. The rail mounting locations on the 3rd gen seats are closer together than that of the 2nd gen seats.

The seat is broken. The switch to move forward and back is broken. The foam **** is all torn and out of shape. How would one go about getting this fabrication work done? Who could I get to do this for me? I understand that this is a pain in the *** but does anyone have advice on where to go, who to ask or more importantly if someone has done this could you tell me what I need.

There is a company called Dr. Vynal in several cities across the country. Or just look up Car Apholstry (sp) in any yellow page phone book. You can also ask any car dealership who does their interior repair on their used cars. They will send you in the right direction. Depending on what you want, you can spend upwards of $300.00.

One thing you can do if you want the 3rd gen seats is make spacers so the seat sits about 1/2in up. The spacer bolts down to the floor in the factory holes, and the fd rails bolt onto the spacer.

since the cars are totally different, Chevy camaro seats would be as easy to fit as FD seats. Find a car with similar seat track dimentions and go from there.

Off topic, but aren't FB seats either the same, or VERY SIMILAR to FC seats? Because the seats in my FB look identical to the ones in my fc, aside from the covers. They're exactly the same shape.

So if they are, and you can put fd seats in an fb, then you can put FD seats in an FC. See?

FC seats will bolt directly into a FB without problems. Anyone who can do a little fabrication work, and has the tools would be able to do this job easy. CJ
