No, they won't fit. The offset on the rotors is all wrong. The 4 piston calipers are the same though (or so I've read).

The FC brakes are more than enough for even road racing with slicks and lots of power. You don't need larger brakes. If you're having braking issues, then get them fixed (flush the fluid with new stuff, get good pads, etc). Bigger brakes aren't the solution to a system that's not working at 100%.

calipers switch right over, but there's no point, they are the nearly identical.

Not if he is running a 89-91 base model...

okay, assuming you have the FC 4-pots already, it switches right over.

Actually, the 4 piston claipers do swap right over to the 89-91 base model. I've done that, they bolt right up and the rotors are the same, the brake lines even fit.

It's the 86-88 base model that won't be a straightforward swap due to the 4 lug small rotors.

All true, except that the brake lines are not the same (I have no idea if they will "work" or not).

The 4-pot brake lines are a two piece with one rubber and one metal section (metal hard line actually mounts to the caliper.)

The single piston (5-bolt) fronts have two (or in some cases one) rubber hose. (no metal hardline)
