Fd alternator in an S4.
I am kind of confused.,I know the B terminal is OK..Now I have to switch out the connector and put on the FD connector Onto the harness and connect it up to the Alternator..Can anyone(Hailers?.Cough..) tell me where the Two wires are to be connected to?..I know that you just can NOT Swap connectors and Can it a Day..Thanks,in Advance ..Dave/STYX.
The B+ terminal goes to the battery, the "Field" wire also gets connected directly to the battery (I just wired mine to the B+ terminal on the alternator via a fuse), and the "Sense" wire (for the warning lights) goes to the stock location.
The Rat is right again. I'm throwing in this jpg from??????? maybe Icemark. I forget who posted it first.

Ya, Hailers,I threw that Jpg over to "The Rat" in a PPM to ask what was what,..I was actually looking at it This afternoon,so That is what got me off my *** and under the Hood to do the Swap!(Damn internet!)..but then it left me confused. Now I understand that ONE wire on the Harness wil be Taped up and NOT used. The other one goes to the Alt...so,While I got it in my head Correctly,I am going out to hook it up!..thanks Big GUYS!..JRat and Hailers..Excellent as always..appreciate it.
DASH is for Warning Lights. All the warning lights come on when the key is put to ON, on a normal RX. Then go out when the alternator starts to put out. You just lose that feature if that wire isn't used. Alternator still functions and regulates without it.
