fd alternator question

fd alternator question

i bought a fd alternator... and just wanted to know if there is anything else needed to do the conversion onto a s5 turbo 2?...will my plug go in the fd alternator or do i need the fd plug? is the color on the wiring the same?is there a how to on a website? i searched but couldnt find it on the forum

1 more thing...will my dual belt pulley off the s5 alternator fit on the fd?

AFAIK the S5 to S6 swap is bolt on and plug in but the pully has a different sized hole.

He is correct, the pulley will not fit on the FD alternator.

Although you CAN have it machine to fit. My business partner had his FC UD pully fitted to his FD alternator for really cheap. They only need to enlarge the hole to fit the FD. But once this is done I doubt you can go back to an FC alt with the same pully.

Ive enlarged one for an FD before, just be careful that you dont make the hole off center. Or thats a ruined pulley.
