note to my prior posts with my bushing being shot and canadapost/customs being dicks about clearing it (taking forever)

also i was always going to do dyno tests, just well right now waiting for those bushings so i can do 'before' dyno test. then fit all this on and do a 'after'.

the average price i seen for a dyno is 75-80 for 2 pulls, you got any cheaper ones in mind? (close to 400 and 7 would be best).

Did anyone else notice that the adapter plate he has made just SCREAMS "add injector bosses please"?

It looks thick enough to add some extra staged injectors in there.

Good job so far man, this is far from a ricer mod. I really like seeing people go out there and do some research and get some results regardless of whether or not it works. I wish you luck and I hope for the best!!!!

I appreciate the good words. And i totally, didnt think of the injector bungs, but now that you mention it i think i may try to make one that has the injectors bungs, but that would be something further down the line. Thanks for the idea, i totaly didnt even think about it. But yeah, i wanna get some dyno results so i can prove this is actually something worth it.

Absolutley, I am very interested in this project. There has been some unneccesary hate towards it but don't sweat it. Yeah, the first time I looked at it I was like.... Injector bungs would be PERFECT for someone tossing down lots of boost and power and the turbulence right after the bend would probably make for some good fuel atomization. Just something to think about down the line that even if it doesn't produce a noticeable amount of power, at least you have developed a great way to install more injectors with a bolt on mod.

Good luck man.

yeah, its just something that is, i am hoping for, a performance increase in anyway, but also its for cosmetic and more room under the UIM for fuel stuff. But hey, either way its a learning experience, and honestly, some of it has been a PITA, but its fun. Making something for our cars ourselves, i dunno makes me feel good that i did something to make it better myself. But anyhow, i am hoping to pickup a LIM tonight so i can mate the 2 and figure out stud sizes for the UIM so it can all bolt together. Thanks again for the interest

Most of the dynos I deal with are about $100 per hour. Lots of runs in an hour...

Lets not also forget the fact that the throttle body elbow options on the FD manifold are way better to run a front mount. That and the extra room under the manifold are the two reasons why I'm gonna adapt over to the FD manifold on my next T2.

Looks like i am finally running to a problem with this. Finding bloody studs. I mean i thought it was be cakewalk to find those. But looks like alot of companies dont have it. I was thinking maybe just get a long 1 meter of threaded stuff and just cut it to my desired length, only it it would not look as nice, and the middle of it will have threads, where as the mazda OEM studs have like the middle section with threading. Anyone got any idea's (while i keep looking!)

LOL, i am a retard. I just figured something out. the LIM studs have to be removed for me to install the new studs, so i was thinking rather then having to get new studs and all that.. why cant i just get a bolt thats the same thread and just fo from the top, it would bolt right in since the LIM is threaded and open ended. So i can just put the bolt right thru, and if i am worried, put a nut under (on the LIM open end). LOL, i shoulda thought a bit harder before my last post! LOL, but progress is progress...btw i got a LIM for 15 bucks so hence i was doing some more toying around.

How did the port matching work out? I know the intake tracks don't excatly match up 100%, just wondering how the blending of the adaptor plate actually worked out...

well... i did the basic holes. They were close, but they werent 100% dead on. Thats where porting came in. I had to port it to make it 100% match. I couldnt do it 100% from the get go, because well 1) i dont have the machinery to even measure and get some sorta blueprint off it (unless i can figureout how to use CAD). 2) to get someone else to do it (a company the measureing that is) would be too damn expensive 100bucks to vector the graphic, 100 per hour for the measuring and creating the cad, the estimate was 2 hours for that so thats 200 + 100 = 300 before even ANY cutting or materials were bought, so that route woulda been like 600 bucks for 1 plate, LOL. This way i did it is MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper

I'm confused. This adapter is for an S4 LIM to FD UIM or S5 LIM to FD UIM?? I'd like one if it's for a S5 LIM to FD UIM.

its for a s4 LIM to a FD UIM. Feed only makes them for a the S5 LIM. I decided to make myown for cheaper, and for the S4 since the 10th AE is a s4 and thats what i have. I mean if i can make these cheap enough and theres big demand for the s5 one, i suppose i can make one for that too, but thats still aways off.

How much longer until you can make a dyno trip?

Good work so far, looks pretty clean to me.

well, i didnt wanna rant on Mazdatrix, i got 1/2 my bushings. They didnt complete the order and i paid for a full order. So until they get the rest to me (and it goes thru damn customs again) shes outta commission to drive. Once i get that.. i am gonna do a BASE run with what i got so far. Then i gotta modify what i have so i can run it with the FD stuff (and thats gonna be a bit of a challenge to figure it all out (once/if i make them for customers i will have instructions and all that so all that work gets cut out) but i gotta figure all that out and then make another trip to the dyno. Now this is where my own personal dilemma come in... i got a Greddy FMIC kit coming in, i would have to use that kit to use the FD UIM (since the top mount wont fit) and hence its not comparing apples to apples b/c one would be FMIC and one would be TMIC. But then again if i wait for the FMIC kit to come in, it may snow here and at that point car's garaged for the winter. Plus with university and work its tough to fit it all in... so i got time and the weather working against me. It will happen just a matter of time...canadian weather damn it!
