FCD on stock motor?

So it seems that the previous owner of my car had a Fuel cut defenser hooked up to what is an otherwise stock S5 Turbo II motor. Is there any benefit to this at all? Will it run any different if I unplug the thing?

I'm pretty confused as to why the FCD is on there, because as far as I can tell, the motor is completely stock.

Intake modified?

Exhaust modified?

Otherwise, it will do nothing to a stock stock car.

The FCD eliminates the stock fuel cut doe to boost. If you have that much (which it doesn't seem you do) then it is required. If you don't have the boost, then it does nothing. Just keep it for now, it won't cause any harm. I would look around to see if he changed anything to necessitate the FCD, though.
