FCD Problem!

Hey, i have a slight or more like major problem. K I had a modified ecu in my car with an fcd in it and it leaned the motor out a lil bit. I had it in there for a few month and now just recently i start to hit fuel cut at like 6000rpm! So i hooked up my Racing Beat FCD at the same time so it was like 2 fcd's at once and it still did it. So ok, maybe its the ecu, so i swap out the ecu for my stock one and made sure the Racing Beat FCD was hooked up properly and in tight but still, i hit fuel cut!

So i am now officially out of ideas. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Chad

Check you grounds.
Engine running with some electrical load (headlights, fan)
With your DMM set to volts, measure the voltage drop from battery to engine to body.
They all should be 0.

My guess is you will have some voltage drop from engine to body.
If so, beef up the firewall to bellhousing ground.

(Mine actually came loose last week.)

I seriously doubt its fuel cut, check your TPS...

A weak primary ground will bias all the above, including the TPS, pressure sensor, Oxygen sensor, AFM & it's temp sensor.

One clue can be the dash boost gauge will be inconsistant, although other bad connections can also affect it.

Get a digital meter and a MittyVac. Put the MIttyVac on the boost sensors nipple. Put the meter lead on the output wire of the boost sensor but AT the ECU. It's a Brown/Red wire at pin 2B.

Apply pressue with the MittyVac while watching the input to the ECU on pin 2B. Tell us what the voltage was when it stopped rising. It should have stopped rising around 3.65v or so. What does yours read????

That business of using two FCD at once is....scary to me. I would not be doing that. Do as you please.

EDIT: The reference to six grand isn't too relevant. What was the boost pressure on your boost gauge. I don't understand why you referenced rpm and not boost pressure. Odd.
