FCD issues on 88TII

I have a 88TII with a streetported motor, still has stock exhaust. I just purchased a FCD from another member on the board. I installed it this morning before I left to work. I get in the car, crank it up and the boost gauge maxes out. The car also sounded different. It sounded like it only had like 1/4 of the power. After about 5 seconds it died. I removed the FCD, and it cranked right up, and ran normally. Any ideas?
Thanks

Make sure the FCD that you bought was made for a series four, NOT a series five. The wiring is different. You can't use a series four FCD on a series five and vice versa.

Two things can cause this... improper connection of the wires at the boost sensor/ wiring harness..

or, if its a home/made, one of the resistors is in the wrong place..... which is why i went to custom made PCB's for mine. (which I seriously hope this isn't one)

What's happening is the FCD is transferring the V-Ref signal to the output, which is in turn telling the computer that the car is OVER max Boost and it is cuting fuel to the rear rotor, so in essence, you FCD is making the ECU hit fuel cut. Fuel cut happens at 3.75 volts or so and v-ref is at 5 volts, so the ECU is thinking that the turbo is putting out like 20 PSI of boost!!!

You are going to think the car has less power, cause its only running one one rotor, and that rotor is getting a hell of a lot of fuel at idle!!!

yeah, I figured that it was saying max boost-no fuel. I tried reading through a troubleshooting guide on it on teamfc3s.org but its all Greek to me. jimmyv13 has offered to rebuild or replace it so, I'll be going that route. Thanks again for all the help!

where can I purchase an FCD or PCB? I am removing the cats and replacing w/ a straight pipe and removing the air pump. I was told once the pump is removed I should put in a FCD
