FCD: clarification

Alright, been looking for an FCD for a while... and I got to thinking: Would it be unnecessary for me to use one when I hav eno modifications done to my AE. I know what the purpose of an FCD is but I thought that there was fuel cut even on a stock engine?

So would it be a waste of money for me to buy and install an FCD when I'm running stock?

Thanks,
Michael

no you dont need one on a stock car. the FCD is used for when boost is raised over 1 psi over stock limits it cuts fuel to the rear rotor. and if you have everything stock there is no reason to run and FCD since youll be running stock boost.

Alright, thanks. I guess I should wait until I get my RB exhaust before I get one.

you do NOT need an FCD until you hit boost cut.

you should NEVER need one if you intend to run stock boost, however you need to do a LOT of porting to the wastegate to make your car stay at stock boost once you start to modify the car.

if you intend on running lots of boost (<8psi) then you need to modify your fuel system as well, a fuel pump and an SAFC at minimum.

A boost gauge is a good idea too.

Yeah, I was under the wrong impression that fuel cut occured on every turbo in order to prevent over boost, not caused from it. Thanks guys.
