FC3S: Removing Dash - has anyone done it?

Hi FC3S'ers

I'm seriously considering removing the entire dash from my 89 Turbo II so that I can re-install it and make sure that all is properly installed. I'm getting a lot of annoying rattles coming from the dash area and I'm hoping by removing/re-installing I can remediate a lot these problems. Has anyone ever successfully attempted this before? I'm planning to do this over a weekend because I know it's going to be a challenge. Feedback would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks, -Serge

Lots of threads dealing with this. Do a search. Also, download a copy of the factory service manual from the link in the FAQ.

Edit: This thread should get you going:

Yeah, well good luck with that, Serge.
If your dash is like the few I've seen- including mine- the majority of the plastic mounting tabs will be cracked, if not completely broken.

The upside of this is that removing the dash gets progressively easier as more mounting spots disappear.

Thanks Clokker, I hear you...

My RX7 only has 60k original miles and the dash plastics all 'seem' to be in relatively good condition. But the worst case scenario is that I'll patch any broken tabs with plastic weld such as duramix 80/80 which will do the trick. Thanks
