FC3 suspension mods, need some input

I recently ordered & installed a Ground Control coil over kit. Specifically asked for a kit to maintain stock ride height. As far as the installing mechanic can remember the Fender to ground height was at 26.5" on the old coils. $800.00 later the fenders are at 25" with no more available adjustment on the coil sleeve. I need the factory spec to get Ground Control to resolve the problem ( they promised stock ride height ). I've been searching the web, this site & others, contacted the local dealer, & talked to my body shop guy. No one can tell me the answer. Maybe you've come across it in your travels. What is the factory spec height, pavement to lower fender well, for an 88' vert?. I've read most of the posts available & I know that this height is not as important as the wheel load. The issue I've got is ground clearance. Maybe one of the suspension gurus can do a posting on the basics of spring / shock replacement. The more I read the less I realize I know.

Some additional info on this post. I did find a factory overall height listed for the 88, at 49.8" (courtesy of Icemark Post ). This would put my ride 1.2" lower than stock height. This info corresponds with the mechanics recollection of 26" fender to pavement height (my current measures are 24.75 to 25.75 ) One other issue I'm not sure about is trailing arms, drag links, & other suspension components. One post stated that you need to release these components (with the car jack-standed) then re-torque to allow these components to be oriented to the new spring heights. I know these are questions that my qualified mechanic should be able to answer. The guy doing the work for that guy, does not speak english. What I evidently need to know is what do I direct these guys to do when I go back to the shop.

You can do all those things without paying a shop. 100 bucks at Harbor Freight will set you up. Jackstands, Jack, and some wrenches maybe even a ratchet and socket set.

put something under the adj spring seat. Or buy a longer threaded sleeve. Stiffer spring rates , and a longer free length spring could all get u a lil higher, or not compress as much with weight loaded

I would not bother going to GC and complain their product doesnt get u back to stock ride height, your just going to sound stupid. Sorry for my choice of words.

Yeah the reason it sits lower is because the springs are shorter than the factory springs. With 8" springs in the rear with the coilovers adjusted to max height my car still looks lower than stock. I don't see how an aftermarket company would even make springs that long...buy some stock ones.

Since you just bought it and specifically asked for stock ride height, you can probably get them to exchange springs. Since you say it's maxed out and still over an inch too low, get 2" longer springs and adjust them down to achieve the stock height. No problem.
