Yeah fire... That FC looks Soo good.. I still have my sleek bumper. One day I'll put it on

 

just got mine mocked up it looks great just now have to drill holes for them, but now how did you guys support that bottom corners of the bumper if you cut off the bottom part of the fender?

 

i was going to do alum brackets, but he never finished so i could work around ic pipes, etc

 

I kept the bottom parts of the front fenders. This allowed me to wrap the edge of the bumper around the edge of the lower fender pieces. I then drilled a hole on each side through the bumper edge and fender edge, then used aluminum rivets. The rivets are visible from the fender well... Not from the side of the car. They still hold strong.

When I think about it now, though, I'm thinking the bumper may fit quite a bit better after cutting the fenders. (As Rob had done on his customer's car.) - I had issues wrapping the edges of the bumper around the edges of the lower fender pieces. I may change that.

 

Between fitting and mounting the lights i think i had like 16 hours into it, plus paint prep

I didnt like the way it looked without cutting the fenders and they wouldnt fit anyhow, maybe newer copies changed this

I'm resurrecting this thread after a full year (366 days to be exact), cause I need some help.

I recently picked up an FC2000 front end, complete with the same Hella housings, bulbs and hardware that the yellow FC has. My question lies with the wiring. It came with identical hardware to the pictures shown, but I'm scratching my head a bit on how to convert my H4 single bulb stock headlights to the H9 double system they use. The kit came with the connectors, but they're disassembled into just the plastic clips, metal pins and the small rubber insulators as well as 6 metal tabs and two 3-prong connector blanks like what are stock on FC's.

What I'm really asking I guess is how to wire the lights into my existing system so that it works like factory. I realize this may be a dumb question, but I'm still learning the electrical aspects of cars (Auto Tech student). The rest of it with the exception of painting it I can tackle without much issue, but this is a new territory for me and I don't want to screw anything up. Any and all input is greatly appreciated, as I've spent the past three days searching high and low for some instructions to no avail.

 

You can utilize the factory socket with some wire and spade connectors, with your new sockets on the end. The factory bulb wiring has three wires, ground, low beam and high beam. Use the FSM or a test light to figure out which is which (I don't remember off the top of my head). Then split the ground to each of the new lights and run the low beam wire to the outer lights and the high beam to the inner. Pretty straight forward.

 

get out a test light and go at it, not exactly rocket science

if you dont want to cut the factory harness get a set of pigtails from the auto parts store and splice into that

 

Literally 5 minutes after I posted I found the diagram breaking the connectors down and felt pretty stupid. However, that is vastly more simple than I was making it in my head. Thanks!!

 

Just as an update to this thread I was lucky enough to get my hands on a real RE unit, and it fits great! No fender trimming or BFH required. Literally removed front bumper, removed side moldings, installed and DONE

It seems some on here have the original RE bumper and some have the Shine version. Besides Shine not coming with the headlights, are there any differences between these bumpers as far as look, or quality, as subtle as they may be, or is the shine a perfect match?
