FC Suspension Q's

My suspension seems to be messing up a little bit. I'm planning on replacing the bushings asap, but I'm wondering if I should replace the tierods and balljoints at the same time?

The symptoms are that while i'm driving at or above 40 MPH there is shimmy occuring. From drivers around the car at the time they say they have seen my wheel start to wobble at those speeds. I've taken it in to get an alignment, but the alignment is in spec now. The tires are new, and have been balanced.

I've had them check the bearings and what not, but that does not seem to be the problem. I'm wondering if just replacing all the bushings will remedy this problem. Is my thinking spot on or not?

Thanks.

Hmmnn. So no play in the steering box itself either? I've seen that on an FC before. If you jack up the front of the car and tug on the wheel alternating sides, any play?

Another thing that happened to me was one of the rear calipers were getting stuck. I find that the e-brake cable pieces on the rear calipers can rust to the point where they won't release.

Also, no point in replacing ball joints unless they are shot, ie have play.

When I brought it in to get the alignment they said the tierods were good but I can't remember if they checked the balljoints. I might have to double check. I'm curious though if just fixing the bushings would remedy the problem. I'm just not sure.

ok to test the upper and lower ball joins jack up the car and push hard in jerking motions up and down on the wheel. if there is play or movement like a clicking or freeplay its either upper or lower. side to side is for the tie rods.
bushings???? u mean the lower & upper control arm bushings?? or the subframe bushings????
if your wheel bearings are fucked u will hear them . could be a horrible flat spot on the tire
