FC starter question from an FB guy

Hey fellas,

I spend most of my time over in the 1st gen section, so please forgive me for wandering in here. I'm looking for some information and have been unable to find it in my searches. Do the OEM starters for non turbo FCs have a threaded hole in them or are both holes thru holes (non threaded)?

I am thinking about swapping an FC starter into my FB and noticed that some people have said the FC starters don't have threads in them. Is this true? I'm guessing that a longer bolt and a nut would fix the problem. Just wanted to know what I'm getting into before I get started. No pun intended....

None of the FC starters have threads.

I don't think any of them come close to fitting the FB unless you have a GSL-SE? The 12A starters are totally different....

Hmmm... in this old thread this guy is claiming that all the non turbo starters are compatible.

Then again, maybe they aren't. He seemed to be having quite a bit of trouble getting his FC starter to work.
