FC rear caliper piston

Hi,
Doing a bit of resto work on a neglected FC S5 Turbo 2. I’m on with the rear brakes and have come across a issue.

Does the adjuster insert come out from the piston? It seems to be crimped in.
im doing a refurb and looking to swap the pistons but the new ones in my kit don’t have the insert.

thanks

One from my parts stash that worked when removed. It looks the same.

Have you tried twisting the black piece out from under the crimp? It might come loose??

I am not a brake expert so I can't comment on the crimping process.

As long as the used one doesn't have any marks that you can see or feel with a finger nail. With a cleaning and a light polish, it might be good to use again.

Once again, I am not expert here.

I've had another go and I cant get them out. The original pistons have cleaned up ok so I'll re-use them.
