my 18" junks of rims are going bubye soon since they need new rubber and its about 150$ a peice for a ok new tire, times 4. im thinking of keepin it mazda and picking up a set of newer miata alloys. like off a 98' or somthin. i just dont know if they would look good or just funky on my car. so if you got some info or pics that would be great.

+1 for mustangs or pointiac bonnavilles
HAHA, Aside from paying $300 for a full set of performance tires, what would be the point? It's funny that you were considering going from 18's down to miatas. My friend put some 18's on his miata today....needless to say you could only go straight forward and straight back.

I've got a set of 99 Miata rims that are sitting around collecting dust...

I've been pondering this same thing for a while now... I think the Miata wheels would be perfect for the FC since they are fairly light (about 13lbs a piece) and you can still fit 205s on em...it keeps the tires cheap...
However, they won't fit my FC - you'd need an adapter plate of some sort since the Miata uses a 4x100 pattern and the 4-lug FC is 4x114.3
I don't even think it's possible to use an adapter...might not be too safe...

It won't even be very possible with an adapter, as that'll take the offset from a 40mm to about a 15mm, which isn't exactly ideal. With a 205 it could fit, but why?
They're meant for a much lighter car, so you're going to be at greater risk of damaging them.

'06+ Miatas (MX-5s) use 5x114.3 rims. They have higher offset though, +50 IIRC. They come with 16x6.5 or 17x7 depending on trim level. The FD 16x8 wheels are a fairly popular (and cheap) choice for MX-5 track wheels.

i have 4lug still. and i thought that the fc bolt pattern is 4x100? the rims i want are 15inch, im just lookin for somthing cheap to get by untill i can get better rims.
my 18" suck ***, they are cheapys from les swab. adr socudo's or somthin, a full set of tires are gonna cost about 600-700$ for good performance.

Even if it was possible, I don't think it'd look right.
If you get ambitious, do a 5-lug conversion, and buy some RacingHarts off a Mazdaspeed Protege, along with some moderate (I think 8mm) spacers.
