Those non sealed ones? I got some bright *** square lights, if you want to know the brand of them I suppose I can look. If I remember their halogen they rarely have a blue tint, they shine a really really bright white.

you can try some of the H4 housing options availble at online auction sites, they can be had cheap and most come with your choice of bulbs. I got a few different sets of H4 housings and tried them each with all different H4 halogens until I settled on my HID's. I got the housings and HIDs all for less than $150 online.

i have been a member here on this forum for almost two years now, never have i been in any confrontation with anybody. I've know everyone has there own opinion but your opinion doesn't need to be as hostile as it was. Titanium TT, i actually have admired your work that you've done to your FC (seen some stuff you have fabricated on TeamFC3S.org). I am not trying to argue with anyone here, just saying my man, no need to be calling names... In my experience I have seen correct installs of HID's that don't blind other drivers and is still functional on FC's. Both our experiences are different. Maybe your wasn't as positive as mine.

peace

Thanks for the compliments but your experience is still ILLEGAL and your telling people to do illegal things. HIDS + H4 houings = illegal and most time when I see that **** I want to take my lifted Cherokee with her glorios 31" mudders and drive right into the headlight housings. My line of sight is 6' off the ground, people much lower must be in pain after being passed by conversions like that

I'm with TT on this issue. Too many times have I ended up with those blurry rainbow spots you get in your vision from too birght of a light shining in them. Granted, my car does sit low, but HID bulbs in stock housing just throw light everywhere and only seems brighter because of that. No beam control at all!

If you're gonna do it, do it right. I dropped about ~$1200 worth of lighting (got a discount though so it wasn't quite so high ) to put HIDs on my car. I used the Hella 90mm Bi-Xenon sealed units. (as seen on RallyLights.com)
Made a new braket that untilizes the stock popup brackets and keeps the unit inside the bumper and shines through the FTP. Angle is adjustable and the shutter still works perfectly even through that small of a hole. No scatter at all. Perfect cut off so I don't blind other drivers.

Note: Depending on your car setup and local state DOT regulations, this height of the light may/may not be legal.

it's funny how you can judge my set up without ever having seen it. you must be a really smart person TT. it's also funny how you are preaching about street legality when almost everyone that has a modified FC ids breaking some kind of state or federal law.
For your information my headlights have never blinded anyone, they are e codes. i think it would be quite interesting to see what would happen if you did try to run me off any road.

Yup, HIDs (BULBS alone) do not belong in H4 housings. If you're doing this, freakin go to a junkyard, or ebay, and buy OEM HID Projectors (I.E. BMW, Infiniti, Mercedes, Audi, etc) and do it RIGHT by retrofitting those projectors into your non-sealed housings. Keep in mind this is STILL ILLEGAL but you won't be blinding anyone at least.

i still say stock sealed beam is the way to go. i kno that they dont give you the best lighting ever (not really neccessary if you live in the city) but dammit if they sont last forever. very cheap and available at any auto parts store as well. i would just rather spend money under the hood rather than have "tight" lighting. my .02

I *think* doing it that way is considered legal. From what I know HID's are legal IFF they in the correct housing. Not to mention that is the way to fully take advantage of them

Agreed, but remember, most of these HID conversions are cheap POS's that cost $150 on ebizzle

I am a really smart person. I have also seen H4 non-sealed beams with HID's and they sucked. E-code is short for European code, meaning not legal in the US regardless of the bulb from what I remember reading on Rallylights.com 's website

And with a muffled exhaust and not driveing around like some dumbass 16yo ricer/dorito wanna be, you won't attract enough attention to get pulled over. Blind a cop when you pass him and it's a good bet your *** will have pretty little red and blue flashing lights behind it.

hmm look who's talking? you sound like a juice up red neck with your jeep. you're the one that wants to run me off the road and i'm acting tough? just let everyone see how much of a douche you really are.

if you actually knew anything about my set up, i am using H4 to D2S adapters. so if you are so smart then you should be able to conclude that i am not blinding anyone, especially cops. i have driven towards and behind cops and they have never stopped me. i understand that you think that i have a cheap ebay HID kit in H4 housings, keep thinking that.

the thing that bugs me is i thought you were a member that actually knew what they were saying, you just came off like a douche bag.

post a pic of h4 -> ds2 adapters and whatever else you need to in order to prove that these are LEGAL.

Yes I assumed they were cheap ebay knockoffs becuase most FC owners are cheap bastards and I've never seen or even heard of an adapter. Regardless though the control of the light comes from the housing. So, unless you changed the housing, I really doubt that they will have a proper HID beam pattern. They may not blind people, but they still are NOT proper HIDs and more than likely illegal.
