FC head unit with stock brackets

Hello everyone
I was wondering if i can use the stock head unit brackets for a single DIN deck.
I am switching out my old aftermarket deck which is on the metra kits, but it doesn't fit the way i want (where the faceplate is the same level as the stereo bezel.....

anyone knows if that works? or anyone modify the brackets to fit?

pictures would be nice =)

Thanks
Jonathan

yes, you simply drill new holes in the locations to match to the aftermarket headunit.

I do not recommend installing any head unit in the FC without using the stock brackets

The DIN plate for the boost controllers didn't fit snuggly into those auto kits....
and i had to use a sleve thing to put the deck in... which well... can easily slip out...(luckily no one stole the deck)

so i redrilled the bracket holes like Mark said

anyways, here are the pics

and it fits perfectly.... the face of the deck goes in more and the faceplate is level with the bezel instead of sitting out of the bezel...

overall i am very staisfied with this.... (and the reason i got this deck is because it matches with the interior very well, and it also amber)

Thanks again Mark

here are the in car pics

As u can see, there is a hole below the gauges..... because the Mazda stock hole is not Double DIN sized, there is a gap there... I am planing to use some lexan or some sort to cover that up (maybe put some LEDs! haha just kidding)

but i might still attach a cable out to connect the aux in of the alpine
