FC or FB

Some of you may or may not remember me...i used to post back in 2004, back when I had an 87 Rx...Well unfortunately her engine blew and because of money reasons at the time I was not able to keep her and had to sell her off. Well to fastfoward to 2006 I now live in Puerto Rico instead of Orlando, Fl. I have in my possession an 83 GSL with a possibly good engine, but with bad coolant seals(water goes into the combustion chamber) and RB headers(thats all I see that has been modded). The previous owner told me the car has been sitting for about a year. And here is where the question starts to come in. Some guy at my job has an 88 RX with a recently rebuilt engine(one of the housings was new, spent 1300$ on engine last year and it has 15-20k miles on it), RB headers n exhaust, the body on both cars needs to be done, slightly and both need paint. The FC is running though, obviously and even has A/C...the guy has had it for 6 yrs so he knows how to treat it. Well the guy sees my liking of RX7s and he offered me to sell me his car for 2200$. So now I have a decision to make...and it is....either

1) Fix the FB, rebuild the stock 12A with a streetport
2) Fix the FB, but instead of rebuilding, just buy a TII 13BT with tranny for 1300$ and drop it into the FB
3) Buy the guys' FC

Ok first of all, I've never had an Fb so I dont know how they ride n all, so that'd be new for me and I really like the car and second, I really loved my FC and I know how much fun I had in it and would love to get another one. Im not going to make a decision now.....but when I have the money, I have about 700$ saved up in the bank so I have time to decide wisely, all I want is people's opinions....I will also post this in the FB section to get opinions from both the FB guys and the FC guys.

Thanks
--Luis

P.S.: Heres a pic of the FB

13bt in FB, that is the way to go. You get the best of both worlds, power from a turboed 13b, and the lightweight of an FB. I am pretty biased though as I am huge on FB's, and not so keen on FC's. I've driven both, and the FC just feels so much heavier. Both are great fun cars, but I've always felt a lot more connected to the road driving FB's. That'd be the reason I own two.

IMHO I think the FB and FD are stand alone RX7 design. I think the FC looks too much like a 944. However I do like the FC verts. I didn't think I would until we got one. But for you, my opinion is as stated above. FB 13b.... After driving both of ours, I think the FB has more of a "rough" feel to it, meaning you can feel the "sports" in the sports car. The FC is more refined both inside and out, so you don't have to "drive" it as much.

Really comes down to what you like.

Later,
Bill
