Question FC engines

Hey I have a 86 non turbo, would a 87-88 13b turbo fit in my car, with the exception of needing to change the hood for the intercooler???

does anyone know if its been done before?

Yes it has been done, and yes it will fit, but for the time and money spent you may as well just go out and buy a real TurboII.

Unless you have a 'vert it is not generally cost effective to change the motor to a 13BT, from a 13B.

You would need to change:
Motor (including things like AFM/intercooler/throttle body/engine mounts/etc)
Harness (or add a few wires and move a couple of pins)
flywheel
clutch
ECU
Exhaust
Brake vacumn line
add a boost gauge

and to do it right also change:

Trans
rear end including half shafts
drive shaft
trans mounts
Cruise control body
inst cluster

if you used a Jspec you would need the T2 hood, but several people have said the North American version fits under the NA hood.

There has only been about twice weekly your request of info...

You need ECU etc etc. As well as the injectors and flywheel or everything attached to the engine.
Not an easy swap. Call Mazdees or Aspec in Toronto they might be willing to do it or over parts etc.

The net would have someone that has done this.
