Like I said, it's the "new setup" but the car is still not finished. So I cannot comment on any power increase.

Ebay... Many "cold air intake" kits out there for other cars come with lots of piping and nice bends to make intake fabrication easy. Just figure out the relative shape/path you need your pipe, and go searching on ebay for cold air intake kits and see if one looks like it'll match. This is the 3rd custom CAI I've built using this method, very easy and fairly cost effective.

And for anyone interested, I use a universal K&N 3" cone filter from summit racing, ebay ones suck.

I think I would personally locate it on the driver's side with your setup though. Keep it away from that radiator hose, clean up the engine compartment a bit, and the air would have a much more direct route. That's just my 2 cents though.
Read above.

Intake pipe has been wrapped with heat wrap as I said in my first post. And like I said, if I left the FD elbow stock (uncut) the bend would be EXTREMELY more significant and harsh than it is now, and be much less a direct route. You'd have to see it in person to realize this, I think. I'll get the greddy elbwo eventually.

I have too, but like I said I had issues on my old setup myself. Launching the car at the drag strip ripped it right off the intake elbow and it was tightened on as hard as the clamp would allow. Car died obviously because of no AFM signal (really) anymore, and too much air. Plus during the process the intake slit a hole intake my radiator hose and dumped tons of coolant all over.

I have my reasons to not try stuff like that again.

Here are some quick shots of mine. Some things have changed, upgraded plug leads, new radiator panel, new e-fan, new FD alternator w/ a Higgi pulley, first pic shows the new Koyo, second 2 are a little older.

Eh, sorry I meant to say that I would prolly go with the greddy elbow as well so it could easily be run on the drivers side. It is a very unique setup. I kinda like it.

FD TB obviously bolts to the FD UIM, and I used the FD TB. Only modifications needed is to hook the correct wires from your TPS wiring to the FD TPS, or like me (using standalone), and then using the FD throttle cable (what I was told, not sure if the TII one will work) and brackets for the throttle cable, it's no big deal at all!

Some people claim dyno increases over the TII upper intake, some people claim it gives better low end torque but sacrifices a bit top end hp, and others subscribe to the belief it overall flows better (larger runners) and improves all around.

I've seen no dyno proof of any of these, personally. I chose this setup based on the fact that someone with a similar intent and port design to me used this setup with good success, and being that it was a cheap setup to start with I figured I'd give it a shot. If it works well, cool, if it doesn't I'll be going ahead and building a completely custom setup.
