fastest streetable N/A

as the title states....who has the fastest streetable N/A? and what figures r we talking about?

and dont gimme' that "go turbo" thing.....ill be honest, i wanna stay N/A as much as i can (dont get me wrong, i love T2's, but to me a porsche is the true turbo car...flame me i dont care!)

i wanna know what was done to it, so i can get tips on how to modify mine. but also, reliability is a big thing too.......i know its an oxymoron.

im not trying to be the fastest dude out here, but i want something to give some v8's a run for.....other than exhaust, intake, high flo cat...etc.

You want a 13b n/a motor that will run with v8's? Not going to happen. The most heavily modded barely streetable n/a's will maybe be as fast as a stock TII which has a hard time with a v8 (rustang, camaro, etc) with a decent driver.

^^^uhhh- NO.

A streetported na with headers and full exhaust, with a cold air box can run with a t2 (stock) Ever heard of a BP or a PP? Man turbos aren't the only way to make your car fast.....be prepared for this thread to be locked shortly as the turbo guys are gonna jump all over this one....

Nah, I wont jump all over it. Just remember, this subject comes up all the time, and there are plenty of opinions on the subject.

Honestly I dont know who has the fastest streetable N/A, because nobody has stood up to claim that title.

I'm assuming this is for drag racing, but if it's for road course, auto-x events, then just practice will make u faster.

But as far as non-turbo NA goes then I believe RETed tuned an FC with a 20b w/o turbos to the song of 232rwhp 200lbs/tq. YOu can find it at the dyno/timeslips section of this forum.

The best way the 20b NA has been described is like a 13b NA, but a gear lower. Before we got the 20b running I had a street ported 13B NA. It was quick probally 160+ whp. So yeah drive your NA a gear lower, thats the 20b. Exceptfor the powerband. Awesome.

Please define 'streetable' first...

I'd define an agressivly port timed bridge port/peripheral port motor as being perfectly 'streetable'.
You aswell as lots of other people might have a totally different opinion.

On a slightly related note, don't expect more than 300rwhp with either setup. Either one will also cost a fair bit of money.

I have the fastest N/A. It doesn't see the track, but it has wings. Then it kicks in the rockets...wait, are rockets naturally aspirated? But anywho..then I hit the James Bond Button, and the wings come out, and I fly to wherever I'me going. I have to slow down tho when I pass over NASA, they gave me a ticket last time I was there.
(mach 5 in a mach 3 zone) But hey thats just me.

I wouldn't call a BP or PP "streetable" or reliable.

Then thats your opinion... ps, thanks for re-iterating my point i was trying to make in my previous post..

Might I ask why you don't think they're streetable (in your eyes at least..)?

so ted has been working on a 20b NA with a stock block/stock ports (not even rebuilt) and they put down 232rwhp with a standalone. i think they can tweak more out of it...heheh.

i'm sure you weren't referring to a 20b. there was a guy around here with an S4 NA running lowish 14's with a standalone and stock ports i beleive.

REted already said that the intake was suffocating the engine, so he knows more power is possible, but damn 232...i'm planning on SCing my car soon and hoping for around 200hp.

Btw, why is it always new guys that post these threads? Can someone please make a sticky that says, "Search before you post something stupid?"

There are a few people, including myself, who are running mid-low 14s in streetable cars. My car holds idle, has all the interior and stereo, and has the stock flywheel and a mildly agressive clutch. ITs loud, but ya what can you do. IT ran a 14.61@97mph, but with the lighter vert rims and a tuned SAFC, I'm confident it could run low 14s.

N/As can run with V8s, and TIIs, and alot of other cars. I've personally have raced and beat 80s Camaros/Trans AMs, C4 Corvette, Porsche Boxster, Turbo DSMs, and mildly modded 5.0Ls, ect.

BTW- MY N/a is for sale.

you can make a NA run with a stock tii with just a few things, I did it. I have not cats intake and exhaust and i ran a 15.2, just got a safc, posi from a gxl and new tires that 225 while i ran that 15.2 on bald 205s, I also just did the TB mod and am porting my exhaust manifold later today. This should put me in mid to high 14s with a total cost under 3 grand for my car including mods and repairs and still get about 23 mpg and drive it everday, ohh yeah it idles rosck solid at 775 rpm

my little n/a runs down stock Turbo II all the time, with stock ports and all the bolt on's , it takes out it's fair share of v8's as well

it runs 9.8 @ 74mph (1/8th mile) without my safc and my nitto's 555r's, i will be out at the track vey soon and hope for low 14's off the bottle

Well I believe every single question has been answered before. Might aswell post a thread to keep things lively. And afterall, this thread is about who actually has a decently fast and daily drivable n/a, not a how-to make an n/a fast thread.
