fan light on but its spinning

fan light on but its spinning

my fan light comes on every once in a while for a few minutes, but my fan is spinning. i keep getting out and checking just to make sure but it still spins. is there something i can check to find out why it says its not working?

no im looking at the belt driven fan...i kinda just assumed that was the one it was talking about. i didnt think there was another one in my engine bay....if im wrong about this...wow i guess i didnt look but im pretty sure its just the one belt fan.

your cooling light has to do with engine temp. the light doesnt care if your fan is spinning or not. you have an over heating problem. if you want to test your clutch fan stick your hand in it and see if i stops easy
no realy i do it all the time

The fan light is in response to the electric fan mounted in front of the radiator and AC condenser. If you pull out the plastic shroud in the front on the left side, you can see it. Easier yet, you can see it if you lie in front of the car and look through the left side of the grill.
So am I right in guessing that you have an automatic? I don't think the aux electric fan came with anything else.

Yes. The FAN idiot light is for an auzillary fan located in front of the a/c condenser. Belt driven fan is not a player.

oh ok well i didnt see that fan...ill check it out tomorrow cause its already 9:30. do you think its just not working? the cars temp has only gone a bit above halfway up the gauge so i havent been worried about it. ill test that fan tomorrow and see what happens.
