Are factory TII springs worn at 180K?

Question Are factory TII springs worn at 180K?

The body of my 88TII 10AE has 178,000 km. I want to upgrade the suspension, but am on a strict budget. At 178,000kms are my springs worn? I'm thinking about just doing shocks and keeping the original springs if they're still OK.

The problem is - if you put worn springs on new shocks, it will wear out the shocks even quicker.

As M's said, they aren't very pricy - so you should get some as well. I have Racing Beat springs and I love them - they were only $60 each too.

Just keep an eye on the for sale section and wait for somebody's used springs to come along. People upgrade to coilovers or change springs all the time. I bet you could find a decent set of aftermarket springs if you were patient, and certainly a decent set of stock springs. Check it out.

my car has 60,000 miles on it and it sags to one side. The springs are shot!

my car has like 178,XXX on it, with stock springs, and there still in good condition. I spun out and hit a 6 inch curb, and they are still ok

my suspension is pretty shot, my car has 150k on it. going over a speed bump is like running over a boulder. would just replacing the springs be a good idea, or are the shocks really the problem?

I have a new eibach pro kit that was never installed for an fc. $200 if you want them. You should also replace the shocks. Shocks would really be the biggest (from a bare minimum expense standpoint) improvement. Throw some decent dpings on there while your at it and really make yourself happy. They stiffen and lower the car.

yeah, i'm pretty sure your springs and shocks/struts are done. I had 180,000 miles on mine and when I took them off I could push the spring in which my hands about 4" or so easly and the shock were F*cked up yo.....

I bought tokico blue shocks and struts and racing beat springs.......very tight susspenion now, hugs the corners very well!

My '88 SE only had 70K miles on it when I had it and the rear struts were already shot.
