Only know what I'm looking at in section A-1 of an 87 fac manual......What I see is the STARTER CUT RELAY and a LgY or if you will a light green and yellow wire coming off the relay going to the THEFT DETERRENT CONTORL UNIT. This LgY wire pulls in a coil in the starter cut relay disabling the circuit from the key to the starter. I'm saying that if you cut that damn LgY wire the car will start. Cut the wire several inches from the relay so you can splice the wire back together at a later time. Or if I'm wrong. Get the factory manual off the web and look at the wiring diagram. Simple stuff to read. Straight forward and logical. Start cut Relay is in the vicinity of the trail coil and brake fluid resivior. Let us know if it works. This is assuming that it is a factory theft unit. EDIT.....if you know where the theft unit is you could cut that same LgY wire at the control unit or mabe just disconnect it (not sure about the disconnect). The theft unit seems to be located under the glove box or in it or behind it. The picture I'm looking at is not that clear. The plug is a seventeen pin plug.

when i first installed the alarm, i pulled the factory theft unit from the car. everything was working fine but now something is keeping the starter, switch side, from engaging. i'll try cutting the LgY wire tomorrow, providing it's not still raining outside.

If the aftermarket alarm has the starter cut, it's useless asking us for help.  Either you dig around yourself or go find the actual installer who put the aftermarket alarm in...

the car still doesn't start even with the aftermarket alarm wires detached from the ignition harness (oem style). if disabling the starter cut relay doesn't do it then my ignition switch is probably gimped. because you can remove the key while the ignition is in the "on" position.
