factory boost gauge

i was wondering how accurate the factory boost gauge is. my math says that 400mmHg=7.73 psi. i know i shouldnt run much more boost without doing other mods, but i was just curious hoe accurate it was.

not very accurate. these gauges are getting to be 19+ years old and they loose accuracy over the years

ok thanx for the input, when my car arrives, ill be sure to buy a boost gauge first thing, btw what exactly happens when you boost too much on a stock engine, it has 21k on motor with full racing beat, full cut defenser, thats it
