Factory Alarm Problem

I have 88 GTU, my factory alarm has been causing me problems. The alarm light panel sensor, sometimes it works and sometime it does not.I don`t even use the factory alarm. I have also a Clifford alarm installed in car. My problem is that I believe that it will activate and from what I have been told will cut the fuel off to my fuel pump. when I go to try to crank the car it will spin and not turn over, but if you let it sit without trying to crank it say a 1/2 hour or so it will turn over. any sugguestions, how do you disable the factory alarm step by step.

The factory alarm only disables the starter from cranking. It does not disable anything else.

When armed and the starter is disabled the factory alarm will flash the alarm indicator once every 4 seconds. If it is not flashing this way, it is not armed.

If the car is not starting or prone to flooding, I would be looking at a compression test first, and cleaning the fuel injectors second.

Compression check should be done first. If you have poor compression cleaning the injectors would not make enough difference to help.

You clean the injectors by removing them and sending them out to an injector cleaning company.

The factory alarm arms by:

After turning off the ignition, you lock all the doors with the interior door latch switch (this means you must hold the drivers door external handle if you are exiting the vehicle, while closing the door).

To disarm the factory alarm use the key in the drivers door (on earlier models) or any door or trunk (on later models), and turn the key to the unlock (or disarm) postion. The alarm will not disarm by the key in the ignition or by the interior door latch switches. Only by using the key in the door (and/or trunk on later models).
