A/F Guage setup questions with my rtek 2.0

Before my car fully warms up my rtek will say that my o2 sensor is bad....but when the car fully warms up the code clears and isnt a problem. Im assuming that is alright but want to make sure. Another question is if an a/f guage will read accurately on my narrowband o2 sensor, i just dont want my car to blow up. And what would i need to do to make good use of a wideband with an rtek since I know i'll be needing one. Thanks

Perfectly normal. Until the O2 sensor reaches it's proper operating temp (which takes a few minutes of driving), it doesn't produce a signal. The ECU recognises this and ignores it until it does see a proper signal. I have ECU self-diagnosis LED's mounted in my warning light cluster, and always get an O2 sensor error code for a few minutes after start-up.

you should buy a wideband if you want to tune, the narrowband is unusable. I would wait till the 2.1 comes out, which should be any day now. That way you will be able to read in the wideband from the var resistor input instead of using the ATP input. rtek also has teh internal scaling function, so you can log the actual AFR, not just 0-5 v

What are the benefits of running a narrowband A/F gauge? Just to give you a general idea of what ratio you have, and to make sure you aren't running at a dangerous ratio?

A narrow band a/f guage is more or less just a light show.

Yes. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt running lean at 14 psi...and im not

Also what do you recommend for a wideband setup?

Actually, if you have a RTEK2.0, a good buy might be the ZEITRONIX unit. You buy it without any display, and then use the PALM that your using on your RTEK2.0 for the display. Also the new ZEITRONIX output a LINEAR output for the 02 signal that can be INPUT to the RTEK2.0 which means you can read the RTEK2.0 while also reading the ZEITRONIX 02 figures.

Some of the above made sense to me when I re-read it. REally.
