extremely high idle-position of AFM(s4)?

whether or not the position of the afm effects a/f mixture. i've just done the tid mod with 2.5" polished alum pipe with 45deg bend and k&n filter. now i ended up positioning the afm in an angle. the turbo side is lower than the inlet side at approximately 40deg. will that leave the flapper door slightly open at idle? because i've got an extremely high idle (1600-2200rpm) once i step on the gas ONE time after startup.. if i pull on the gas pedal, sometimes it comes down to 1100 and sometimes it jumps right back to 2000. from under the hood, it almost seems like the throttle is gettin stuck after you step on itnow i've also done other mods since the car ran last. here they are:

TID mod
WG ported to 23mm
turbine runners ported
twin scroll removed
replaced turbo with used s4
LIM & UIM gaskets O rings replaced
Koyo Rad and Greddy Cap
ACT clutch

i dont think any other mods would really effect the idle itself. i've adjusted the TPS, although it should be replaced(but i know that's not the cause, it was the same way b4).

funny story. i forgot to put the check valve back into te intake, just a vac line. o man, that thing back fired like crazy. even at idle, remember my idle is extrememly high)and my boost gauge read max. vac. barely any boost. after 5 mins of staring at the vac. diagram, i recognized the mistake. must admit, i was scared shitless at the moment, but it's funny now.

anyways, is the AFM door sensitive enough to be effected by gravity? possibly, because it relies on air flow to open the door. sorry for such a long post for such simple question, but i kinda wanted to brag about all the work i've done. first shot at them. hehehe

If you have the flapper door style afm in the s4's you have to mount it level or at least within 10 deg or else it will be affected by gravity as you said. it is very sensative. But on the s5's the they replaced the door with a cone wich does not have to be level

damn, i don't want to mess with my nice and new TID.

can i mount the S4 AFM right before the turbo? so it would be the filter, then TID(not AFM), then the AFM, to the turbo? would the heat of the turbo effect the AFM signals in any way? my stock heat shield is in place.

and if anybody cares to know, my transmission is leaking fluid from replacing the clutch yesterday. it's one of the seals. i believe it's the RTV between the case and the extension housing. i really don't want to pull the trans again. It was a pain in the *** to get that trans back in and I don't wanna go through that again. how much do transmission shops charge for R/R transmission(labor only)?
