Extreme vibrations

Could anyone tell me where to begin looking for the source of some nasty vibrations in my 88tii. They begin at around 20mph and get worse until about 65mph at which point they subside a bit. I've also noticed that they get worse while turning the wheel to the right at about 50mph or so. Could this be caused by out of round tires, or maybe related to lifting the car at four points then setting it down (perhaps changing the alignment?) I'd really like to solve this one before the snow begins falling.

Thanks a lot,
Jason

I would say most likely it has something to do with the balance of your wheels. Lifting the car up at 4 points should not change your alignment. When going over some rolling hills my car gets air born all the time and it doesn't affect my alignment.

if it was the tires or wheel balance it would keep getting worse at 65, not go away.

I'd look for any play in the front steering, I'd pobbaly get the alingnmet checked. it should be done often anyways. and get a tire shop to check the tires and balance.

Thanks fellas, I'll look at both the tires and the drivetrain tomorrow afternoon. I just installed a new clutch kit recently, so it is possible that I did not connect the driveshaft properly. Also, the tires and the tranny/engine bushings are in poor shape. Looks like I'll be placing a $$$ order soon!

Sorry but im going to have to disagree with that. Some vibrations do to unbalanced parts do go away after a certain speed. How do you explain a shaking steering wheel that only does it at a certain mph?
