i was toolin through bnrs pages lookin at the series 4 turbo upgrades and i came acrossed this

Standard external wastegate flange added to your turbine housing
what is this???? does it mean you can run a external wastegate with the stock s4 manifold??
this may be a stupid question but i would like to know.

I would highly doubt that since there already is a wastegate in the turbomanifold....but anything is possible

 

The wastegate on the stock turbo is built into the turbine housing, not the manifold.

While it is possible to put an external wastegate on the stock turbo (it has been done) it is a serious pain in the *** and not really worth it.

 

Brian no longer uses the external wastegate and instead utilizes a super large 32mm port on the stock flap. This is from an email I got back in april, so he hasn't offered the external wastegate for a while.
