Exclamation expert needed ...rough start ... i need your help plz help

here is the problem ... when i turn the key it will crank over but wont start for a while. when it does start it idles rough (misfiring i think) and when you stomp on the gas to rev high it sounds like its choking and back fires ... you can rev high but you have to step on the pedal slowly.

this is what i have:
86 rx7 na
new battary (optima)

i really need help plz ... thanks much

Might not be your problem but that's how an engine behaves when it is flooded.

i know how to unflood the motor and it isnt flooded ... lolz ... but i dont know ... ooh and when it starts the RPM meter dosnt work ... wtf
