Expected HP gains with 2 options

I want to either get this:

RB DP/PS

or just have a muffler shop fab up a pipe for me so I can take out my cat.

Which would produce the most power for the $$? Or which would prove to be the better choice in the long run? Thanks.

Also, is the 18hp reading on the RB DP/PS accurate? If so $290 for 18hp is a good deal I think.

BTW, my car is a 91 N/A with an Apexi intake with CAI in the making...so either do numbers for totally stock S5 or one with apexi CAI S5. tHanks

I could barely tell a HP difference when I took my cat off. The car sounded better. But when I added the DP, my *** dyno skyrocketed!! My precat must have been very clogged.
I'd go with the DP/MP combo if you have the $$.

a downpipe is only for turbo charged cars if I am not mistaken...go with headers or true duals

Why don't you just do it the cheap way and gut the cats.? jk... Well, you could do that if you wanted, its what I did becasue I'm short on cash. The car feels slighty more quick, but if the $290 cat. replacement has the same effect as just hollowing the cats. out, I wouldn't waste the money....I'm sure this is not the case though. If money is not an issues, I would go with a RB streetable header, and a aftermarket or custom dual exhaust.

yes they call it a downpipe, from the header to the main cat (dont ask me why). then the presilencer. I have this combo with the racing beat cat back as well. It deffinaly gave me a large hp gain, *** dyno as theysay. As for fabing your own, its up to you, the thing with rb is that all their stuff blots straight up to eachother, i installed my whole system in like half an hour (took twice that to remove the old exhaust.) deffinaly wortht the money though in hp terms.
