exhuast feed back....Racing beat

I recently left home to go work for somone ,and I'm going to be reciveing a large sum of money to of course dump into my car.... I recently bought a rebuild kit and am waiting to get back to assemble the engine. But I really want to buy the RB T2 exhuast system what do you guys like about the system and what dont you like??? I also plan on purchasing the racin beat suspension package which is avliable on there web site too. Is the is money well spent?? I also heard that there is a waiting list on there exhuast system too is that true? FYI: I have a huge exhuast port and a mild street port. any idea's what numbers I should be putting down oh and no emissons..?

I have the RB 3" turbo back. I love it. Does not sound like a riced out civic. Very quite for and aftermarket exhaust. Only thing I don't like is the price. Don't get me wrong, it is a good product for the money. Just wish it was a little cheaper. But I would buy it again if I had too.

And yes there is a waiting list. Think I waited a month or so.

It's worth it...thick flanges, great welds, strong pipe, awesome sound. IT is heavier than most of the aftermarket singles obviously, but it's well made and should outlast the car.

I purchase the Apexi GT spec cat-back (mated to CS DP/MP) instead of the RB, because after hearing both in sucession, it was hands down obvious that there was no comparison... The GT series exhaust sounds 10x better. I hate to dog Racing Beat (which I think is the best LOOKING exhaust), but there's really no comparison. RB is simply 'buzzy' in comparison.

what kind crack are you smoking?? 789$ for a full exhaust is damn good, especially for one that performs as well as RB's, some catbacks cost more than that by themselves.

as for the Apex'i GT-Spec, that thing is pure sex, it sounds amazing.

Does anyone have any sound clips/video clips of their exhaust?

Eh..what?

I think you must be talking about one of their other exhausts, such as the NA version with a smaller presilencer that sounds like a honda crx. We're talking about the rb full 3" turbo back setup.

I have some old videos of my turbo vert I could post, however all you can really hear is the whining turbo (dying stocker) since it was filmed inside the car with the top up.

i think so too, ive heard the 3" turbo back in video, didnt hear any "buzzyness", my wifes vert has the true dual and it has the buzzy/raspy sound, its not horribly bad, but you can tell outside the car, you cant hear it driving it though.

I should note that the nice sound of the turboback is achieved not through the mufflers, but the special presilencer. I know this because I've removed the catback and started the car before, and though it was somewhat louder in volume, the tone was identical. And, I've been around a car with the RB mufflers but straightpipe everywhere else, and it sounded bad just like any other loud exhaust.

I liked the sound so much that I bought this presilencer only from Rb and had it custom welded into my FD's midpipe, which achieved exactly the same sound that the FC setup has. For whatever reason they dont offer this presilencer for any other application, but you can buy it by itself.

Hmm for a budget note :-/ RB DP to PS and any muffled cat back or 2 borla Xr1's.

Would this not be the RB sound and save a few $? Shoot like 75% of the price is the Y and the cat back of the RB.

The rb presilencer from this system is $250 plus shipping, IIRC.

the RB system is very good quality for the price... keeps noise in check and still allows high exhaust flow/power

i dont have the RB becuase i am using the CS 3" system, as it was cheaper at the time and a single exit, and very free flowing striaght 3" basicly..... noise is pretty bad however....

if i had to do it again id prolly go with the RB system if i wanted my car too look nicest and sound the best

Yeah, I have the RB turbo system....

I used to have a Bonez 2.5" DP - MP - ApexI N1 Duals. That system was great....very very loud and was sooooo deeep in exhaust tone. I loved it until I grew up....

Then I got the RB system...The build quality is simply amazing and the welds look top notch. I almost felt bad covering my DP in exhaust wrap The mufflers look so good and they tuck into the space so well. On my S5 the tips just fit perfect. That was the biggest downside to the N1s....they fit like crap in the muffler hole. And the pre silencer is a very nice piece! And like mentioned before the flanges are very thick.

All in all...I wish I had gotten the RB system first.

The sound is so mellow and not buzzy at all.

James

until you grew up... thats a weird statement.

i have an N1 single, it fits up perfectly, and the build quality is equal to the RB, my wifes vert has the true dual as i posted. the n1 single isnt loud to me at all, very very deep and agressive in low-mid rev's and the norm rotary sound up high. that was with header test pipe and the N1, i have an RB 2.5" turbo pre silencer im putting on it, so it should be even quieter.

it's true though. Some of us grow OUT of the "look at me I drive a fast car" stage. I used to have 2.5" turbo back in to HKS can which was LOUD as **** and then got N1 style 3" turbo back which was also LOUD and EVERYONE heard me a mile away. I recently bought the full 3" RB turbo-back for 400 bux and it's so much quieter........I can drive past cops and they don't even bother to look at me AND the ricers don't rev at me as MUCH as before.....i think you should get it.

Mad-
*I hate ricers*

RB is it. When you get on RB it sings but when you're casual, it is too.

I had the RB catback exhaust and I loved it. It wasn't rice sounding at all.. at idle it was deep sounding and when kicking on it sounded good. My favorite exhaust sound is when double clutching.. the fast rev up is sooooo nice.
