Get some ApexI N1's Or Racing beat mufflers Both sound deep.

You don't NEED them unless you live in Cali...oh you do lol. I think cali people get inspected on everything. More power with little money is not what your looking at. The most you can do without going no immissions is a cone intake and weight redux and the cat back.

Loose collector & precat, run a header to the main cat, to any single or dual long straight through mufflers.
The longer mufflers seem to give a lower tone.

No inspections in FL, so I run dual silencers in place of the cat.

Pics & sound bite in my sig below.

Since your in California...is Escondido close to Beverly Hills?

Here is a shot in the dark from Canada, Go to see Fred at Mindtrain, he build exhaust systems for the FC3S either turbo or N/A.

I recently heard a system of his, street header with pre-silencer, silencer in place of the main cat, and street 'Y' pipe with 1-3/4" cores in those silencers with big throat mufflers.

I was so impressed that I ordered one too, but for now I'll be using my stock Mazda mufflers.

This system sounded more like the rumble of a small V8 then anything else, nothing tinny, just a low throaty rumble, very nice

I can dig up the retail prices if you like?
