What is a better exhaust for a turbo II
Single 3" exhaust w/ 4.5" tips, or a dual 3" exhaust with 2 4.5 " tips?

I totally agree with Scott leave the 4.5 inch for the hondas. Racing beat all the way... no other exhaust compares IMO.

thats what im getting. the rb flows really good until the mufflers. for max perfomance, the rb mufflers dont flow the best.

 

Whaaat?? I never noticed any problems with my racingbeat cans... In fact, before I upgraded my turbo and went Haltech, I switched my TII Racing beat cans over to N/A cans just to get a little LESS flow to keep the boost creep down.

Maybe if you have a monster turbo and are pusihng over 400 HP, you might notice a difference between the racingbeat and corksport mufflers.

 

they guy who owned it b4 me put some exhaust on it w/ dual 4.5 in. they look nice, but i really think there is too much flow bc my boost creeps like hell.

 

I voted single.Less weight and more flames. Dual looks alot better though.

Gonna run a T04B 60-1 so I will be running 3" exhuast.

 

I have dual and wish I had gone single for weight and restriction purposes... of course if i had gone single i'd probably be saying i want dual now cuz it looks better... =|

edit: i am going to take that back until i look at them again.

Oh, and I said duals, because our bumpers have two holes cut in them. That's my only reasoning- it looks dumb if you only have one pipe.

If you're worried about weight then you aren't making enough power to worry about weight.

 

Single makes more power, weighs less, and looks fine in my opinion. Only thing I don't like is the extra cut-out you have left.

I have a RB system on my Turbo II and this is my 2nd RB
system on my Turbo II. The first RB Full Exhaust System I had, "The Old School One", had the smaller tips, and that stealthy stock look. But when I first saw the new RB Full Exhaust System I fell in love with it, pictures dont even do it justice, you have to see it in person to appreciate the beauty of the system, the canister are fully polished, and they have a engraved Rotor with the RB Logo on the side of the tip. However I have to agree that the Duals Weigh a lot more. The single has in my opinion a lot more flow, I had the single installed in my first Turbo II, and I can swear it feels like the Single system pulls a little bit more than the dual system.
But I will never get rid of my RB exhaust for another dual system. As far as the extra hole is concerned that is left over when you install a single system exhaust is, you can take it to a body shop, and have them cover the spot with some bondo, and it will look like the car originaly came like that. Thats what I did and it looks good depending on what type of exhaust system you have along with a nice tip, with it positioned in the right angle is critical. Unless your a FC enthausist you would never know.

 

I agree the problem can be fixed, but thats the only downfall of single exhaust that I see. Well that and it can be louder than a dual setup, but a few resonators can solve the sound issue.

 

Sorry I have to disagree with you here. I have a friend with a Turbo II running a 60-1 with a Full RB E.System
and the car runs high 11's, and its a daily driven car.
The car dynoed 375 RWHP.

There's no such thing as too much flow, only not enough flow through the wastegate. Replace the stock wastegate flap with the biggest one that'll fit and port the wastegate to the edges of it. A custom downpipe that divides the turbine and wastegate flows will also improve wastegate flow if the porting isn't enough.

Single vs. dual really only comes down to two things: cost and looks. Get what you can afford and what you like the look of. The power and weight arguments are blown well out of proportion.

 

i personally like the 4.5" outlets, i don't think hondas deserve to have anything that sweet on them

 

i have a turbo rb cat back and getting ready to buy the downpipe and cat replacement

 

where can i get a bigger wastegate flap?
also, will a BOV help with boost creep at all?

Easiest is to get a turbo shop to do it. Doesn't cost much and they can port it at the same time.
