Exhaust question

Sorry for all the exhaust posts, I'm just trying to work out the last details before I go in to get it done. Last post on the subject, I swear!

Ok, I picked up an Apexi N1 muffler yesterday, with a 2 1/4 inlet. I plan on running 2 1/4 single right from the manifold, no cats (no emmissions here). So I have 2 questions:

1) Will I have enough back pressure?
2) Will it be REALLY loud?

If it is going to be really loud, how can I go about quieting it down a bit without spending a fortune? My friend suggested running a 2nd muffler in the middle, what do you think of that idea?

Any help is appreciated!

Your profile says 88 rx7 GX? I'm not sure what a GX is; but I'm guessing it is NA. I will say that your set-up will be preaty damn loud. Running another muffler will probably quiet it down a bit; but how long that muffler will last may upset your bank account. Your best bet is to go with a racing beat presilencer. It is a little expensive but it flows well, and does a good job of quieting down the noise. It also sounds like you are keeping the stock manifold; which will cut down on the noise alot. I say build the exhaust without any silencers and see how you like it. You can always cut out a section and bolt in a silencer if it's too loud for ya.

I personaly have grown to love the insanely loud rotary music!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you want good power and a reasonable noise level, you're going about it all wrong. 2.25" is too small and will strangle the engine. And even with all that back-pressure (which quietens any exhaust), a single muffler is probably going to be much louder than you want.
This is what I think you should do. Go and buy another one of those 2.25" mufflers and also a 2.5" straight-through pre-silencer. Run 2.5" pipe from the manifold to the pre-silencer then split into two 2.25" pipes and the two 2.25" mufflers. This will flow as well as a single 2.5", and will be quieter. If you're worried about this being too quiet (doubtful) then leave out the 2.5" pre-silencer for now. It's smarter to add a pre-silencer later if you need it than to pay for one and then remove it if you decide you don't want it.
