Exhaust question

Ok currently on my 88 GXL I'm ruuning the stock header and from there a 2.5 in exhaust that splits to dual 2in pipes to 2in inlet fart bomb mufflers. With this and some other things I pulled 135 hp to the wheels at 7100 rpm.

Now my question is I'm thinking of getting the Racing Beat race header and then keeping the exhaust a true dual exhaust running the racing beat 2in pipes all the way back to the same 2 mufflers I have.

Will I gain any hp from this or loose some?

Should i install a x pipe in the exhaust?

We just had another thread going on this a week or two ago. I think we came to the conclusion that the header will give ya a little, but the "X" pipe is unproven on a rotary engine...Wanna be the "guinea pig" and let us know how it goes?

Well i can get the X pipe for pretty cheap

I guess I could just weld up the exhaust and make a section for it right behind the header that will unbolt and I could swap out the x pipe out with 2 pipes and try to go dyno the differences

I don't know though since the dyno runs will cost me about $70 a run( actually a little less sincei got a hook up though). I will see though I will be ordering the parts tomorow or monday.

I think Santiago ("1987RX7guy" or something close to that) has tried different exhaust approaches & used the G-tech instead of a dyno run. Might want to PM for more info...
