Exhaust Pics - road race headers collected at the back

People can hear this thing from so far off. I guess when I let off the gas it sounds like a semi going by on the highway. Haha, man this echaust rules. I DO have a muffler coming early next week. Too bad it's too loud, I am starting to like the sound of this exhaust.

I'd say 4/5 of the time it's race only. I'd like to be able to drive it around, so I need to get that muffler on. Another problem is I don't have a trailer, so I have to make trips to: Spokane (230mi), Helena(215mi), and Missoula(120mi).

The funniest part is I took it to the Subaru/Mazda dealership here to get a teched for a driving school next week. I forgot to mention that it's loud. Man will they be surprised.

BTW, I'm having a friend of mine video record this thing before I put the muffler on, it's too funny not to get it saved.

One muffler on the end of that isn't gonna quiet it down much.

When I had my open exhaust I loaned my car to another rotary buddy and I could hear him at EVERY intersection all the way to his house. (2 miles away) And, he wasn't getting on it at all....

No kidding, I think I am being quiet by not touching the gas at all and coasting as far as I can, but friends tell me they can hear me way off.

I was just by someone that he could hear me turn on the car in a busy town two blocks over. Right then a cop heard it and turned down the street in my direction.

Obviously, he didn't find me -- not like it's hard.

When I was running open headers I had to turn off my car at 40mph when passing HwyPatrol going the opposite direction.

I go to pick it up from the dealership at 3:30, then I gotta make a 2mi. trip to get it home. Place your bets now.

Popular vote says, most people think it's a Harley coming when they hear it far off. I'm supposed to get it recorded tonight. I took the guy who owns the camera for a ride earlier and he said he saw people covering their ears. I would think true duals would have to be even louder.

Sweet! The longer the header, the faster the gases move, right? What is the advantage of going uncollected?

I don't think it moves any faster because it's longer, but longer headers give a lot of low end scavenging. You do this to basicly get as much of a torque curve (hump) as you can.

This car is primarily for autocross, so it's the mid RPMs that I was looking for a boost in. Not the best for all applications, but it seems to be working pretty good.

It appears the computer must have gone through a cycle and learned the new exhaust, cause it seemed a lot more peppier half way through the day. Might have been due to the fact I replaced the O2 Sensor while I was down there.

Next week I am going to a driving school, so I can't touch the car untill after then. Once I'm done, I am having the system sand blasted for me. Once that is done, I can heat coat it. I already have all the supplies, I just don't want to worry about getting it sandblasted, painted, and cured all in three days.

loud is good my exhaust is over 100db and I have had a couple of problems getting on track days, as its too loud and I have been nicked once for excessive noise from the exhaust.
Sounds so cool though my mates have said it sounds like a high-powered bike from miles away

Same here, my exhaust require me to wear earplugs for highway driving. Its a custom 2.5 inch resonated "see thru" style exhaust

Yeah, they are red Xs now cause my host took a dump. Notice my sig is also down. I have no idea when they'll be up again cause their main page is down too. Bastards.

I host on the same directory as a friend of mine with a popular forum for my area. He just left to Vancouver for a week. He is going to be pissed.
