Supposedly it works, I havent ever seen it illuminate though. There is an under floor sensor that triggers it off.

yeah, when I ran that 1000 shot of NOS it lit off, but that's probably because I forgot to double clutch .
Is the exhaust overheat sensor that thing under the passenger seat bolted to the floor? My friend and I have seen it, but we couldn't ever be sure what it was for.

LOL. If it is under the passenger seat, then you must really have to get that exhaust hotter than the fires of hell to set that bitch off.

Not entirely, considering the cats should be running right underneath there.

If the exhaust is hot enough to set that sensor off, you could be in danger of detonating the air/fuel mixture from a hot spot in the block before the spark plugs ignite it. Thats my theory and I'm sticking to it

I never even new the sensor worked or have heard It work until now. It was the 2nd last connection I made when I replaced my Front Engine Harness with a brand new one.

Anything that causes excessive exhaust heat can set it off, like clogged cats, improper mixtures, etc. If it turns on, don't ignore it.

FYI, JDM cars like mine don't have the sensor under the floorpan; it's fitted directly into the cat instead. This means I don't have that sensor anymore...
