this is for a 1988 gtu N|A

its either

racingbeat catcack and presilencer and header (will all be purchused at differnt times)racing beat road race exhuast (cant afford to be it all now)
apexi N1 duals
Apexi GT
GReddy Power Extreme Exhaust - 86-91 ( i have heard great things about this one and really like it as well its just a little pricey but i am asuming well worth it in the end but dont know if it is designed for the turbo models and wont work as well on an N\A)???????

Both the Apexi systems and the Greddy are really for Turbo cars and not a non turbo.

So in other words, they won't give you more power, and will just be louder.

The RP/HKS 50mm system or the RB are probably going to be your best bet for a non turbo.

Have you personally heard any of these exhaust systems/set ups?

Racing beat is gonna be loud specially with that header....check it- Find someone around your way with one of these set ups or exhausts so you can hear it for yourself... push comes to shove- YOU TUBE them! lol

I am also in the market for new exhaust actually for an 89 GTU. One of the major deal breakers is the wall thickness, much less than .120 and your going to get alot of the high pitched sounds coming through along with more noise in places other than the outlet. As far as toning the sound down im not sure but would venture to geuss it wont be HP friendly to deepen the tone.

If you want loud do a single exhaust, like corksport.

i have a single can muffler(corksport style) and it is way too loud even with the silencer(the 1.25 inch restricter in the end) so next week i am puting a dynatech splitflow muffler in place of the resonator, i am hoping it will quiet it down enough to take that shitty silencer out, or at least take some rasp out of it.

+1 on single muffler being loud.

I'd vote for the RB stuff since it looks nice and the tone sounds good (from what i've looked up on youtube or seen on other members cars).

+1 for RB

I myself have have CS single, so mines loud. But Out of all the 7s with RB exhausts i have encountered they sound beautiful. No matter what exhaust you get, you always get the undeniable sound of 2 rotating pizzas. Yum! I can almost already smell the hydrocarbons.
