exhaust help ASAP (please)

has anyone heard of Mindtrain exhaust? I have the chance to buy a catback exhaust for $120!! The guy has the reciept that shows he paid $550 plus shipping for it, but what worries me a little is it starts at 2.5" then splits into dual 2.5". I guess i could weld up a piece of 3" (thats what the downpipe/mid will be) to the split right? I plane to run a straight pipe into this catback which has 8 yeah EIGHT built in resonators.

heres a pic:

Quoted from fc3spro.com:
There are several good aftermarket exhaust systems available for the FC3S out on the market. Two most notable systems are the Racing Beat 3" full turbo exhaust system for US$789, and the MindTrain 2.5" exhaust systems, which come in fully emissions-legal variations with catalytic convertors to full-race versions with no cats. Price for the MindTrain exhaust systems come close to US$2,000!

Now decide if you want it.

You can probably sell it for what you'll pay for it, but I'd wonder why is the guy selling it? Too loud? What did he replace it with...?

Mindtrain is legit, don't worry about the 2.5" design. But straightpipe into that may be LOUD, perhaps a presilencer will be needed, shouldn't be too expensive to add though.

MindTrain is a legit company.
It's funny how many talk **** about it when they have no clue what it is.

It's a steal for that price.

Mindtrain has always made awesome products for RX-7's and they have been in business for a very long time.

Looks dirty, but a good cleaning should make it like new again. Looks simple, and compact. Do it.

itll be a little bit before i can get sound clips... I just got my body kit in from KGS Engineering, so saturday will probably be aimed at that. May be sunday i will be able to get the stock tips welded onto it, then bolt it up for a quick soundclip. Keep in mind within a few weeks it will probably be sounding alot different with a turbo and 3" exhaust ahead of it.

completely forgot to get sound clips... I'll be out there later today and ill try to get some.

another question... When i do my turbo here in a couple weeks or so i want to get rid of the rats nest. I will be running 3" all the way to the dual 2.5" catback exhaust (i believe dual 2.5" flows about the same as a single 3.5" IIRC). Anyways What can i use to quiet the car down a little? I will be running one of my T-70's, with 550cc and 750cc injectors, an SAFCII, A/W intercooler and will probably run 10-12 for boost. I obviously want a really open exhaust and what not but seeing as how loud the car is now i think straight pipe would cause my ears to bleed!!

Now i know on my Fiero, the turbo quieted the car down to the point i didnt need anything more than a glasspack. So yeah, what are some suggestions on a pre-silencer that will give me some nice flow, sound yet not cause me to lose my hearing. I am running 1000watts RMS @ 1ohm through my subs so there is already enough to make me deaf...

You have the Mindtrain on the original cats and it's really loud?

Straight pipe will be insane. Perhaps a RB presilencer.
