Exhaust diffuser: pt 2
After doing a search, I found out that the diffuser is held in by 2 pins, and it can be removed if the pins are drilled out. I thought the diffuser was casted into the rotor housing or something. Anyway, what if I just take the diffuser out port the exhaust port and leave the diffuser out? Will that screw anything up?

Well, since nobody know,(or cares) I tried to drill out the 2 pins. Not that easy. I broke a normal drill bit (think it was for wood anyway) and 2 metal drill bits (says they are for soft metal, these pins are obviously hard as hell.) I'm going down to Sears tomorrow to see if I can find a cold chisel and some hard *** drill bits. I want to remove the whole diffuser, not just the flat part in the middle. From looking at the rotor side of the housing, it doesn't look like the diffuser has anything to do with the shape of the hole. I figure if I can get it out, the rotor side will be smaller than the other side, like a funnel. Then I can port the inside, to make it larger, and since it will funnel out, the exhaust won't bottle-neck anywhere.
I dont remember where I read. BUT they say not to remove it. Something about the waterjacket. I attempted to grind the W looking plate out. Its a bitch. Honestly I woulnt bother unless you are really porting the intake.

I will port the intake if I can get that stupid diffuser out. I know the yeild of porting a 6 port isn't that great, but the motor is already apart, and I plan to run a NOS system and I want an optimized flow if for nothing else, for the NOS.
