Exhaust concerns

My recently aquired 87 turbo has a full turbo back racing beat exhaust, (3 in. downpipe to presliencer) on it. I purchased it this way...the prior owner took out the air pump and cat and i'm running hella rich. Im not that worried about the emission part but he didn't upgrade anything besides the exhaust, should i be concerned and do i need to adjust anything else that he could have possibly overlooked since the car is running extremely rich?

I've been reading a lot of this forum but i figured i would post and ask whats the next best step to take with this current step up. I have a new alt. coming from silverrotor, my charging system was on the fritz...and i have two more $200 paychecks coming this summer then my hours are goning to suck because of school... so $400 to spend...THANKS GUYS

On another note RX7's rock...couldn't be more happy i decided to go this route

I would get an FCD at least. they can be had new for relatively little from www.racingbeat.com this keeps the ECU from cutting fuel to the rear rotor when boost reaches a certain point. sometimes this can create a lean condition and cause detonation, at least that's the rumor around here. It's probably not going to hurt your car to not have one but it would be first on my list of things to get. As far as running rich, you could add an safc (air fuel ratio device) and still be under your $400 limit, although it is not really needed for driveabilities sake, only for performance increases. Good luck.

How do you know it's running rich???

You're running a full exhaust, and unadulterated exhaust fumes are NASTY.
A LOT of people think the car is running rich, but that's how the exhaust smells NORMALLY without a cat.

If anything, you're running dangerously lean with no upgrade fuel pump.

GET AN UPGRADE FUEL PUMP ASAP!
